Floyd Mayweather and Robert Guerrero made weight Friday for their Saturday showdown for Mayweather's World Boxing Council welterweight world title.

Mayweather, returning to the ring after a year's absence that included two months in jail, weighed in at 146 pounds while Guerrero weighed in on the limit of 147.

Mayweather went to jail last June for domestic violence. Since his release eight months ago, he has been working to regain the fitness needed to defend his place atop the list of boxing's moneymakers.

Fellow American Guerrero, 31-1 with 18 knockouts and a 15-fight win streak dating to 2005, insisted again that he would hand Mayweather the first defeat of his career. (© 1994-2013 Agence France-Presse & abs-cbnnews.com)

PBA: Barangay Ginebra vs Talk N Text Games Live Streaming

Talk ‘N Text coach Norman Black said Game Two of their best-of-five Commissioner’s Cup semifinals series is like a win-or-go-home situation for them.

After absorbing a 23-point loss in the series opener of their best-of-five series versus Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, Black knows they need to play better than what they showed in Game One.

Game Two tips off at 6:15 p.m. at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum, with live broadcast over AKTV on IBC-13. The game will also be broadcast on a delayed basis starting 7:30 p.m. over TV5.

“We must play with a sense of urgency now that we’re down 1-0,” said the Tropang Texters coach.

Talk ‘N Text was totally outplayed last Friday by the Gin Kings and Black pointed to their poor shooting game as the main culprit to their downfall aside from allowing Ginebra to play its game.

“Matching Ginebra’s energy and intensity on defense will be the key,” Black said.

“Three-point shooting has been our strength this conference so we have to find a way to get better looks for our shooters.”

Ginebra shot above 50 percent (42-of-80) in Game One while Talk ‘N Text hit just 35 percent (29-of-82), including an awful 1-of-18 from the three-point zone.

PBA SEMIS: San Mig Coffee vs Alaska GAME 1 Full Video Replay

Denzel Bowles struggled all game, but scored the last six points for his team, including the winning jumper with six seconds left to lift San Mig Coffee over Alaska, 71-69, Saturday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

The win gave the defending champion Mixers a 1-0 lead in their best-of-five Commissioner’s Cup semifinals series and preserved coach Tim Cone’s perfect record against his former team.

“Denzel, those last three shots, what do you do? What do you do defensively?” Cone said after the game.

“I’ve said this before: Denzel, he’s a big game guy, he’s a big moment guy.”

Bowles finished with just 12 points. He had a difficult time scoring against the defense of the Aces, who battled the Mixers in a fierce defensive struggle that saw the two teams combine for just 45 points in the first half.

“Honestly, at halftime, I laughed to my coaching staff,” Cone said.

“It wasn’t like we were missing open shots. Everything was just incredibly contested. It was the best defensive half I’ve been a part of in my 24 years of coaching.”

The Mixers got plenty of sparks. Peter June Simon top-scored with 15 points, while Mark Barroca scored all 13 of his points in the third quarter to keep San Mig Coffee afloat. James Yap, meanwhile, once again battled his back problems to finish with 10 points and eight rebounds.

Robert Dozier finished with 21 points for Alaska, which saw no other Aces player score in double-figures.

PBA Semis: San Mig Coffee vs Alaska Live Streaming

Top seed Alaska and defending champion San Mig Coffee start their much-anticipated best-of-five semifinal series in the 2013 PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Saturday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

The Aces and the Mixers mix it up at 6:15 p.m. with Alaska hoping to end their losing streak to former coach Tim Cone.

“That does not mean anything in playoffs. Maybe we have a little bit of confidence against them but this is going to be a down the wire, tough series and my players know that,” said Cone, who won 13 titles with Alaska before moving to San Mig Coffee camp before last season.

Cone has an unbeaten 8-0 win-loss mark against the Aces. But more than the record, Alaska coach Luigi Trillo is more concerned over how his players perform in this crucial stage of the tournament.

“We have to find a way to play not only during our good times but when we go through some tough times also in the playoffs and we will have a couple of both those,” said Trillo, whose wards finished No. 1 in the eliminations with an impressive 11-3 mark.
